Astros use rookie Tyler White’s SUV for target practice
To be a rookie in Major League Baseball is to fulfill a dream.
That’s the good part. On the downside, it also makes you a target to many of the bored veterans simply looking to pass the time during a long 162-game season.

Houston Astros rookie Tyler White learned what that could entail prior to Saturday’s game against the Oakland A’s. According to reports from the scene, a couple of White’s veteran teammates, believed to be Carlos Gomez and Dallas Keuchel, decided to drive his White SUV right on the field. They then parked it in front of Tal’s Hill in center field, which is right in the line of fire during batting practice.
And no, the Astros didn’t just put it there for show. They actually took aim.
Then they made contact.
That will leave a mark.
Making matters worse for White, his teammates hid his keys during the early part of BP. All he could do then was watch on helplessly.
Honestly, in terms of baseball pranks, this one isn’t quite as harmless as most. After all, they were risking damaging his property and undoubtedly did leave at least one dent. That’s probably where the line should be drawn, but as much as baseball players love to play and have fun, they also have a way of making it right.

We’re sure Tyler White will get to see that side of his teammates as well in due time.
