Buffalo team responds to Free Brady event with ‘Keep Brady Suspended’
Earlier Wednesday, we told you about the Pawtucket Red Sox’ “Free Brady Friday” promotion, which is being held on June 10 in support of New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady.
But now, in a move that would likely make minor league baseball’s funmeister Mike Veeck proud, the Buffalo Bisons, the triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, have announced a Brady promotion of their own: “Keep Brady Suspended” night.

The idea is in direct response to the PawSox’ event, and will be held on June 11. According to the team website, the Bisons are showing support for Brady’s “just and rightful” four-game suspension for possibly having knowledge of footballs that might have been improperly deflated before the AFC championship at the end of the 2014 season.
Highlights of the promotion include:
- Buy one, get one free tickets to anyone that brings a properly inflated football to be donated to area youth football programs;
- A 12.5 percent (the minimum required inflation for NFL footballs is 12.5 PSI) discount at the team gift shop for those that bring a Brady jersey or t-shirt;
- The accepting of “UN-DESTROYED” cell phones (Brady destroyed his phone before talking to investigators) to be donated to “Cell Phones for Soldiers”;
- A montage of “some of sports’ greatest cheaters, with special video tribute to Patriots’ coach Bill Belichick” to be shown on the stadium video boards;
- And, where those named Tom or Brady will get into the PawSox game for free, the Bisons won’t let Toms or Bradys watch the first four innings of Game One of the doubleheader. “Please, no appeals,” the announcement quips.
Wonder how many tweets/emails/phone calls the Bisons will field from Patriots fans reminding them the Buffalo Bills are 4-28 against the Patriots since New England drafted Brady in 2000?
