Sturridge doubt, Rashford chance – reports
Daniel Sturridge is reportedly a doubt for England’s friendly against Australia after missing training on Wednesday, paving the way for Marcus Rashford to make his debut on Friday.
The Daily Mirror and the Daily Mail report Sturridge, 26, was absent from training due to a calf problem which could jeopardise his place at Euro 2016.
The Daily Telegraph says the forward was “rested” for the session and he could yet feature at the Stadium of Light.
Earlier this week, England manager Roy Hodgson said he is considering handing a debut to Rashford if the Manchester United striker recovers from a knee injury in time for the match with Australia.

Liverpool striker Sturridge made 14 Premier League appearances this season, scoring eight goals, while Rashford made 11 appearances, netting five times.
Sturridge has 17 caps to his name for England and five goals but faces competition for his place in the squad from Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney and Rashford.
Midfielder Eric Dier said of Rashford: “It’s a bit of a fairytale isn’t it? It is brilliant for English football and for him, and I’m really happy for him that he is here with us.
“Hopefully we can look after him, there won’t be too much pressure on him and he can do what he has been doing for his club here with us.”
