Rougned Odor finds a way to make money off the Jose Bautista punch
from Heim’s Barbecue in Fort Worth isn’t the only benefit Rougned Odor will receive from punching Jose Bautista in the jaw. Apparently free meals for life
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Odor will also benefit monetarily after agreeing to sign “punch items” during an upcoming appearance at a Texas memorabilia shop.

Odor, who was suspended eight games for the punch but is still playing pending his appeal, is scheduled to appear at the “Field of Dreams” in Frisco, Tex. on June 4. The location is about 35 miles north of Globe Life Park, and it’s familiar territory to Odor. He spent parts of the 2013 and 2014 seasons playing for the Frisco Roughriders, which is the Rangers Double-A affiliate.
According to the report, a regular signed Odor photo will come at a $59 cost. However, any fight related photo or item will cost an additional $40, bringing the price to $99. That’s a pretty expensive autograph, but the Field of Dreams management is still expecting a huge turnout.
Store manager Brett Kravitz told ESPN that he thinks he will sell all 500 autograph tickets for the event and that about 95 percent of people will want something punch-related.
Inscriptions will cost an additional $20. Kravitz said that two inscriptions Odor might sign would be “Don’t Mess With Texas,” a popular inscription on the famous Nolan Ryan-Robin Ventura punch photo and “Bat Flip Will Get You Fat Lip,” a reference to Bautista’s famous bat flip last season.
Like Kravitz, we’re guessing Odor will have quite a following already in that area, and we’d also suspect some fans from Dallas-Fort Worth and even southern Oklahoma will make the trek as well to get an item signed.

What’s not entirely clear is how the money will be divided up or who will benefit the most, but let’s hope at least some of that money finds its way to a good cause.
