Ex-Missouri QB Maty Mauk lands at Eastern Kentucky
Former Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk is heading to Eastern Kentucky.
Mauk updated his Twitter bio to include the school as his current location earlier this week and the school confirmed Friday that he has signed a financial aid agreement.
Mauk graduated from Missouri last week so he will be eligible to play immediately in 2016 as a graduate transfer. However, since EKU is an FCS program, Mauk would have been able to play right away anyway.

Mauk was suspended twice and ultimately dismissed from the Missouri program over the course of the 2015 season. He was dismissed in January after a video of Mauk that appeared to show him using drugs surfaced on social media.
Teammates had said the video of Mauk wasn’t recent and Missouri said the dismissal was for a violation of team rules rather than the video.
Mauk opened the season as the Tigers’ starting quarterback and started the first five games of the season. He made his first appearances for Missouri as a freshman in 2013 when then-starting QB James Franklin was hurt. Mauk was the team’s starter in 2014 as Missouri went to a second-straight SEC Championship Game. He threw for 2,648 yards, 25 touchdowns and 13 interceptions that season.

Mauk follows the path of former Ohio State defensive end Noah Spence, who transferred to EKU after multiple suspensions for positive drug tests. Spence excelled in his lone season with the Colonels, totaling 63 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks.
Spence was selected in the second round (No. 39 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
