Patric Hornqvist leaves Game 3 after blocking Killorn shot (Video)
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Patric Hornqvist missed the last 7:06 of Wednesday’s Game 3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning after blocking a shot in his left hand.
Hornqvist dropped his stick and skated off the ice immediately after taking a blast from Alex Killorn. He went down the tunnel of Amalie Arena into the Penguins’ locker room and did not return.

“I don’t have definitive status on him. He did leave the bench. So we’ll probably know more tomorrow,” Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said. “So, yeah, I don’t have any updates for you at this point.”
Hornqvist has six goals and nine points in 14 games this playoff. His Game 4 overtime winner against the Washington Capitals put the Penguins up 3-1 in that series. During the regular season he had 22 goals and 51 points. This playoff he’s averaged 17:14 of ice-time.
Losing Hornqvist for any time would hurt Pittsburgh’s net-front game, especially on the power play. Hornqvist has two power play goals in the playoffs, which is tied for third on the Penguins. During the regular season his nine power play goals also ranked third on the team.
