Max Scherzer makes a young Mets fan’s day
Just because the Washington Nationals and New York Mets are expected to be fighting for the National League East title until the bitter end of the season doesn’t mean Max Scherzer can’t win over at least a couple Mets fans.
Scherzer, who lost to Noah Syndergaard and the Mets on Tuesday night, was in the outfield during batting practice before Wednesday’s game having a catch. That’s not at all unusual, even the day after a start. It’s who he was having a catch with that might surprise you: a young fan in a Mets jersey.

You never know what will go down when you head to a ballgame. If a diehard fan on his team’s biggest rival can toss a ball around with the Nationals ace, truly anything can happen.
