Bartolo Colon’s home run turned into excellent ’30 for 30′ trailer
Indulge us for a minute and briefly allow yourself to imagine the future. The year is 2032, and you are flipping through the channels on your Google Glass 8.0 as your flying, self driving car takes you to work. As you’re channel surfing, you stumble upon ESPN12 and see the following commercial.
You immediately call up Siri version 11, which is now voiced by Kanye West, and set up your DVR to record the program. Then, you fondly remember where you were when you saw New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon’s majestic home run. You laugh because you were doing dishes as you were watching the game. Doing dishes yourself is such a 2016 thing. Now, they are done by Apple Butler Bots. Everyone has one in the future.
And scene … we are back in the present now.
Thanks to the above trailer, it’s not hard to imagine a future where all those things are possible. Given the absurdity of Colon’s home run, we could at least see an abbreviated “30 for 30” about the event. The feature could include interviews by Colon, other Mets players, broadcasters and cyborg Mike Francesa. You would most certainly watch it.

Oh, and about our vision of the future. You may say some of the things we imagined seem unlikely or impossible, but so did Bartolo Colon’s home run.
