Alabama dismisses 5-star recruit from 2016 class
Alabama offensive lineman Charles Baldwin, a member of its 2016 recruiting class, is no longer a member of the team.
The school announced Thursday that Baldwin had been dismissed because of a violation of team rules. He was a five-star recruit in Alabama’s most recent class and widely considered to be a major contributor on the Tide offensive line before he left Tuscaloosa.

Baldwin came to Alabama from ASA College as a junior college transfer. He was the No. 2 juco prospect in the class of 2016 according to Rivals and recruited to Alabama by assistant coach Mario Cristobal. He was an early enrollee and was already taking classes in the spring semester.
He was one of five five-star recruits the Tide got in the class of 2016 along with DE Terrell Hall, LB Lyndell Wilson, LB Ben Davis and OL Jonah Williams. And if you’re one of those people who cares about recruiting rankings, yes, Alabama would still have the No. 1 class in 2016 without counting Baldwin among its recruits.
