Game recognize game: Carolina Panthers pay homage to Steph Curry
Steph Curry grew up a Carolina Panthers fan, and was even at Super Bowl 50 to root on his favorite team. And the Panthers appear to love Curry back.
After Curry’s ridiculous 17-point overtime on Monday night helped the Golden State Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers, Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart put up a Curry jersey in his locker as motivation for the Tuesday’s work.
It shouldn’t be too surprising that the 15-1 Panthers respect the two-time NBA MVP. Great players are drawn to other great players, no matter the sport and even if they’re all the way across the country (I assume Stewart has a hometown Charlotte Hornets Frank Kaminsky jersey in his locker on days that Curry doesn’t score 17 in a playoff overtime).
When Curry hits the offseason, he’ll surely show up at more Panthers games. We know there will be plenty of mutual respect.
