Infographic: Stephen Curry dubbed NBA MVP
The Golden State Warriors put together arguably the most impressive season in NBA history this year, breaking a number of records en route to a record 73 wins. Not only did they break records as a team, but the Warriors’ ringleader Stephen Curry had one of the more remarkable campaigns himself, and capped it off by reportedly winning his second consecutive MVP award.
We take a look at the numbers that made Curry’s season special, and the elite groups he joined.
Curry is the first player in Warriors history to win multiple MVP awards. Wilt Chamberlain (1959-60) is the only other player in team history to win MVP.
He recorded a player efficiency rating of 31.5 this season, the eighth-best single-season PER in NBA history. Only Wilt Chamberlain, LeBron James and Michael Jordan recorded a better single-season PER.
