What you’re about to witniss is no illusion. It’s not trick photography. It’s not even a glitch in the system. What it might be though is the most insanely accurate pitch you’ll ever see.

It happened during Friday’s Pac 12 game between rivals Cal and Stanford. It didn’t actually happened in the game, but rather in Cal’s bullpen. Apparently, the guys out there were looking to pass the time with some trick shots, and right-hander Ryan Mason stole the show by throwing a baseball through a falling cylinder.
Holy cow!
As we learned later in the broadcast, this is actually a regular practice in Cal’s bullpen. The cylinder here wasn’t just falling from the sky. It was propelled by one of Mason’s teammate, though it sounds like he’s the first to actually throw the baseball through it.
Thanks to Allison Mason for posting that interview.

Perhaps the craziest thing here is that the moment was actually captured on the game broadcast. Had that not happened, it would have been Ryan Mason’s word against his teammates, and sometimes teammates like to have some fun twisting history.
We saw it, Ryan. And we were definitely blown away.
