Stars defenseman Stephen Johns lined up Blues star blue liner Alex Pietrangelo and hit him hard into the boards. This angered Reaves, who stepped in and defended his teammate.
Reaves and McKenzie then started to fight one another.
When Reaves began to beat up McKenzie the Dallas forward turtled. When they broke apart and were sent off the ice, each with five-minute majors, Reaves gave the gesture to the Dallas bench. Reaves played in Games 1 and 2 of his team’s first-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks and then was sat in favor of Steve Ott.
The Blues called on Reaves in Games 2 and 3 of this series to add more size in their lineup to combat the speedy Stars. St. Louis leads Dallas 2-1 in their series.
