Bosh officially declared out for rest of Heat season
Miami forward Chris Bosh will not return to play this season because of an unspecified medical issue that has kept him out since the All-Star break, the team announced Wednesday.
The Heat and Bosh made the joint announcement one day after the National Basketball Players Association urged Bosh and the team to resolve his status.
“The Heat, Chris, the doctors and medical team have been working together throughout this process and will continue to do so to return Chris to playing basketball as soon as possible,” the Heat said in a statement.
The 11-time All-Star had expressed a desire to return to action after missing the last 29 games of the regular season and Miami’s first-round victory over Charlotte. It’s the second consecutive year Bosh’s regular season has ended because of a injury detected over All-Star weekend.
Bosh did not travel to Canada with the team, and the Heat have not offered a reason for Bosh’s continued absence from the court.
