Miami DE Al-Quadin Muhammad has knee surgery
Miami defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad had arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday.
Muhammad posted a picture of himself in the hospital to Instagram. According to the Palm Beach Post, Miami officials said the arthroscopic surgery was “a small procedure done on his knee” and he could return to football activities in two weeks.
Curiously, the Instagram picture with the caption “Thank God surgery was a success minor set back I’m good though I’ll be back in no time btw I’ll be ready for the season #GodHasAPlan” no longer appears to be on Muhammad’s Instagram page.
A redshirt junior in 2016, Muhammad is expected to be a big contributor to Miami’s defense. He had 8.5 tackles for loss and led the team with 5 sacks in 2015. He was also third on the team with 54 total tackles.

Muhammad first saw playing time in 2013 as a true freshman. He redshirted during the 2014 season after he was suspended for the year. He was suspended for the season, according to the Miami Herald, after he had an altercation with his roommate. Muhammed allegedly punched the roommate and broke his nose.
Muhammad was a four-star recruit in the class of 2013 and the No. 3 weakside defensive end in the country according to Rivals. He was ranked the No. 49 recruit in the nation and the top player from New Jersey.
