Detroit Lions 2016 NFL draft grades: Bob Quinn leads solid 1st draft – Detroit Free Press
Four Free Press sports writers give their takes on the Lions’ draft performance:
Dave Birkett: B
The Lions, wisely, put a major emphasis on upgrading their offensive and defensive lines. But they didn’t get any immediate help at defensive end or safety.
Carlos Monarrez: B-minus
Safe, solid, foundation picks early had Lions general manager Bob Quinn bordering on an A, but a backup QB and a long-snapper felt like give-up picks at the end.
Jeff Seidel: B
It was a solid start for Quinn: Not flashy, but he addressed needs and didn’t do anything crazy early.
Drew Sharp: C-minus
Quinn’s plan — beefing up the infrastructure — with more size and toughness up the middle was commendable. But you still won’t know for another couple of years.
Your turn!
