Detroit Lions pick SS Miles Killebrew in fourth round – Detroit Free Press
After going offensive line, defensive line and offensive line with their first three picks of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions addressed strong safety today with the selection of Miles Killebrew from Southern Utah in the fourth round with the 113th overall pick.
Killebrew, 6-feet-2 and 219 pounds, is known for his hard-hitting style. He fills a need for the Lions, with James Ihedigbo gone. Killebrew could compete for the starting strong-safety job and could possibly be a nickel linebacker.
Killebrew is a tackling machine and registered a whopping 132 tackles last year for Thunderbirds.
His resume is solid. He was a four-year starter and a team captain. He also had an impressive week at the Senior Bowl. He should be a key contributor on special teams.
