Mike Trout has taken on a second job in the Angels organization
If you look at the stats, it’s pretty clear that Mike Trout does enough for the Los Angeles Angels. Over the past four seasons, Trout has hit an astounding .308/.403/.568. He’s won a Rookie of the Year award, made the All-Star game each season and took home an MVP award. Mike Trout more than carries his weight for the organization.

The Angels may no agree, though. Apparently, being one of the best baseball players on Earth isn’t enough for them. Though his on-field contributions have gone above and beyond, the Angels are making Trout pull double-duty. That’s right, he’s now also the team’s new meteorologist.
We’re kidding, obviously. Anyone who has followed Trout on social media knows he’s shown an affinity for the weather, so we’re guessing he enjoys the team’s new feature.
It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first time Trout has appeared as the club’s new meteorologist. His first “update” went out April 7.
While the videos are silly and short, kudos to the Angels for the idea. It’s a nod at one of Trout’s favorite off the field hobbies, and it’s a fun way to present a boring subject. Most teams will simply tweet out weather reports if a game is in danger of being postponed. The Angels now have their star player providing quick video updates.

For Trout, though, we’re not sure what’s the bigger curse: Being on a team that has never made a playoff game, or living in a place where the weather rarely changes. OK, fine, he would probably say the former … but given his love of weather, we can’t totally rule out the latter.
