TOP STORY: Man City to beat Man United and Chelsea to Stones?
Chelsea and Manchester United will be left disappointed this summer as John Stones will ultimately choose Manchester City, according to the Star.
Stones, who is set to star for England at Euro 2016 this summer, is motivated to work under Pep Guardiola despite Antonio Conte driving the Blues’ bid for the Evertonian. The Toffees may ultimately be forced to finally sell Stones, and it is the combination of Guardiola and Champions League football that looks to have swayed his decision to head to the Etihad.
Barcelona eye Schmeichel as Ter Stegen replacement
Kasper Schmeichel‘s heroics for Leicester this season could be rewarded with a move to the Camp Nou and Barcelona, according to the People.
The Danish goalkeeper has been in stunning form, and the Blaugrana see him as a replacement for German stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who continues to be linked with a move away.
Schmeichel would then have to battle it out with Chilean stopper Claudio Bravo, though the pair would likely split minutes between La Liga and the cup competitions.
Conte looks to bring Jovetic to Chelsea
Chelsea will make an unlikely swoop for Stevan Jovetic this summer, as Antonio Conte looks to finally land the Montenegrin, according to the Star.
Jovetic failed to make the grade at Manchester City and Inter Milan have already paid a £2 million loan fee, facing an obligation to buy the 26-year-old for £12.5 million. The Blues could then offer to take Jovetic off the Nerazzurri‘s hands and would then put together a contract worth £90,000 per week.
Spurs to beat Premier League rivals for Lacazette
Tottenham look set to win the race for highly sought French striker Alexandre Lacazette and could pay £23.5 million for the Lyon hit man, according to the Mirror.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton have shown an interest in the 24-year-old, but it looks as if Mauricio Pochettino has got his man.
Lacazette has bagged 17 Ligue 1 goals this term and is hoping to be part of France’s squad as they host Euro 2016.
Tap-ins
– Spurs will be busy this summer and will also look to capture Valencia centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, according to the Star.
Los Che‘s defensive stalwart has attracted interest from Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, but Pochettino’s side have now thrown their hat into the ring for the 24-year-old German international.
– Tony Pulis is determined to bring Liverpool flop Christian Benteke to the Hawthorns this summer, according to the Star.
The Reds striker, who cost £32.5 million from Aston Villa last summer, has proved to be a disaster for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but Pulis wants to revitalise the Belgian forward at West Brom next season.
– Leicester are looking to shop at Manchester United this summer and bring Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira to the King Power, according to the Star.
Claudio Ranieri’s side already has former Red Devils Danny Drinkwater and Matty James (in addition to Danny Simpson) and will now attempt a second bid for the 20-year-old after previously failing in January.
– Arsenal will battle it out with Juventus for striking prodigy Dusan Vlahovic, who has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners will hope to beat the Old Lady for the giant Partizan Belgrade striker and a bid of £2 million could be enough to snap up the 16-year-old.
