Walk-off home run lifts Yankees over Rays

Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner had a good day the plate against the Rays. His three hits included two that affected the score: a seventh-inning single that tied things at two, and a walk-off home run that looked like this:
That was Gardner’s second homer of the season, and a mighty timely one at that. Overall, he’s now hitting .331/.441/.479 — not bad for someone whose name has popped up in trade rumors time and again over the past year.
As for the pitcher, Erasmo Ramirez, he learned an important lesson: You can’t be missing to that spot in fastball counts without getting burned.
