Report: Braves complai over home park's infield
Another day, another group taking issue with Turner Field’s conditions.
The newest complaint comes from an unlikely group — the Braves themselves. Really. Here’s what Doug Padilla reported on Thursday:
Unhappy over the conditions of the Turner Field infield, Atlanta Braves players are considering contacting the players’ union to see if they can pressure their own club to make improvements, a source within the organization told ESPN on Thursday.
Padilla notes that this comes just a year before the Braves’ new stadium, SunTrust Park, is set to open. As such, there’s going to be speculation about whether the Braves are trying to cut corners until they can move into their new digs. Of course, some have already made that argument — this just shifts the focus from the substandard product on the field to, well, the substandard field.
