The viewing figures are in for the soccer matches on US television from the weekend of April 15-18 where Chelsea against Manchester City was the biggest draw, netting almost 900,000 viewers across NBCSN and NBC Universo.
Also impressive was the viewing figure of 676,000 who tuned in to watch Barcelona lose to Valencia on beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español.
For the second week in a row, NBCSN’s coverage of the Premier League showed that you don’t have to be Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United to generate considerable viewing figures. After last week’s great number for Sunderland-Leicester, Sunday’s 439,000 viewing number for Leicester-West Ham United was impressive.
Near the bottom of the list, Friday’s broadcast of Jacksonville against Miami FC was disappointing given the 4,000 number. Fridays are always the worst day of the week for viewing numbers, but maybe this Saturday night’s broadcast of Tampa Bay Rowdies against Carolina Railhawks can improve the overall numbers for the second division league.
