Brooks Orpik exits Game 3 following Ryan White hit (Video)
The Washington Capitals lost Brooks Orpik for the remainder of Game 2 after he was hit along the boards by Ryan White of the Philadelphia Flyers in the second period.
Orpik played the puck up ice as White laid a clean, hard hit on the Capitals defenseman. Aside from their knees making contact, Orpik’s head appeared to bounce off the plexiglass before he crumpled to the ice.
“He’s not responding to any commands right now,” said NBCSN analyst Pierre McGuire, who was stationed at ice level between the benches.
Just a frightening look in Orpik’s eye as he was being helped off the ice. There was no penalty called on the play and Orpik was deemed “questionable” to return by the Capitals and was being evaluated by the team’s training staff.
