Adrian Beltre’s reaction to this Chris Tillman pitch is priceless
doesn’t like it when people touch his head and he reacts accordingly. But we saw Thursday night Beltre likes to laugh, too.
Adrian Beltre has the reputation of being pretty intimidating on the field, mostly because he reallyDon’t believe us? We have video evidence. Beltre was at the plate when Orioles starter Chris Tillman threw a pitch so far outside it hit the ground at the back of the batter’s box opposite Beltre and skipped to the backstop.

Tillman’s misfire caught Beltre by surprise, as the Rangers third baseman instinctively threw up his arms and he couldn’t help himself but let out a few chuckles. How often do you see a major-league pitcher miss his mark by that much? It can’t be a good sign when 50 Cent’s infamous first pitch comes to mind.
Beltre, who’s seen his fair share of pitches over his 19 seasons in the big leagues, needed to call time to gather himself before continuing the at-bat. It appeared even Baltimore catcher Matt Wieters was laughing at Tillman’s expense, who gave up 6 runs in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss in a 6-3 Texas win.
Things that make Adrian Beltre angry: people touching his head. Things that make Adrian Beltre laugh: ridiculous wild pitches while he’s at the plate. Good to know.
