A new NCAA rules proposal would change the way coaches use social media. If proposal 2015-48 passes, coaches would be allowed to retweet and like, among other options, social media posts from recruits. For real.
The proposal basically comes down to the fact that entirely too difficult for NCAA enforcement to monitor the social media accounts of coaches across the country. There would be some restrictions, of course (like endorsements of certain things), but otherwise, regulations would be a whole lot looser.
Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph threw out the first pitch at OSU’s baseball game on Tuesday night. It didn’t go well.
It’s good he went with football instead of baseball.
Here’s a weird story. With an offhand remark about football players apparently staying at his home, a Mississippi businessman may have accidentally revealed an NCAA violation. Oops
LSU coach Les Miles apparently was in attendance last week when the New Orleans Pelicans hosted the Los Angeles Lakers. The game marked Lakers legend Kobe Bryant’s final appearance in Louisiana as a player, so Miles made sure to give him a customized Tigers jersey.
Bryant will play the final game of his NBA career Wednesday night, so Miles waited a few days before sharing the photo. Cool stuff.
In scheduling news, Miami and Florida are apparently quite close to an agreement for a game in Orlando in 2019.
The longtime rivals have not played since 2013.
