Watch Stedman Bailey run routes 5 months after he was shot in head
At Thanksgiving, Stedman Bailey was just trying to live to see the next day. Now only five months after being shot in the head multiple times, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver is resuming his football activities.
This is pretty incredible: Bailey running routes, covered by teammate Tavon Austin, in an Instagram post by Bailey on Tuesday:
Rams head coach Jeff Fisher hedged considerably when asked about Bailey’s future in the NFL, hinting that he wasn’t sure how well Bailey could respond to treatment or if he ever could play in the league again. Bailey was in Miami in November and was shot twice in the head while sitting in a car. He was able to recover enough a few weeks later to be home by Christmas, and he picked up his teammates’ spirits with a video message prior to the Rams’ Thursday night victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15.
Now Bailey is showing everyone that he hasn’t lost a step. If he makes it back to the field, we have ourselves a nice little front-runner for Comeback Player of the Year in 2016.
