Michael Wacha is projected to have a huge day versus a lackluster Milwaukee Brewers offense

P- Michael Wacha (vs. Milwaukee Brewers): $9,400. Wahca struggled in his first appearance in 2016 against the Pirates, but I think he will rebound quite nicely against the Brewers. The Brewers are nothing special offensively and I like the fact that Wacha will have his home crowd behind him.
P- Aaron Nola (vs. San Diego Padres): $8,500. Nola has the potential to put up a big game against a struggling Padres offense. Nola has showed a good amount of success against the core group of hitters in the Padres lineup. In 32 total at bats against their starting lineup, he limited them to a .156 opposing batting average and 8 strikeouts.
C- Matt Wieters (vs. David Price): $3,100. While many people see the name David Price and cringe, Wieters smiles very big. In 44 at bats against Price, he is hitting .341 with 4 RBI’s, 7 XBH, and an OBP of .383. At only $3,100, he is a great steal if you know the matchup.
1B- Tyler White (vs. Chis Young): $4,500: Tyler White has been on fire recently. Through his first six games, he is hitting .556 with 3 home runs, 9 RBI’s, and 3 runs. I’ll stick with the hot hand and take White at home versus a mediocre Chris Young.
2B- Robinson Cano (vs. Colby Lewis): $4,400. Robinson Cano has had Colby Lewis’ number for quite some time. In 21 career at bats, he is hitting .381 with 1 home runs, 3 RBI’s, 3 XBH, and a .435 OBP. Cano has started the 2016 season on a hot streak and there is no reason he won’t continue that today versus the Rangers.
3B- Adrian Beltre (vs. Hisashi Iwakuma): $4,000. Once again, we are playing the match-ups today. Beltre has 39 career at bats against Iwakum and he is hitting .308 with 3 home runs, 5 RBI’s, 4 XBH, and a .341 OBP. He has had a pretty good start to 2016, so I feel he is a steal at only $4,000 against a veteran he has had a lot of success against.
SS- Carlos Correa (vs. Chris Young): $4,900. Correa doesn’t have any career at bats against Chris Young, but why not pick the best shortstop in baseball in this position? He is hitting at home against a mediocre pitcher, who lacks in the strikeout department. After seeing Correa play the first 6 games of the season, this kid is the real deal and I feel comfortable putting him in my lineup everyday if I can afford him.
OF- Matt Joyce (vs. Justin Verlander): $2,100. This is my bargain pick of the day. Spending only $2,100 on a starter allows you to spend money elsewhere. This will be Joyce’s first start of 2016, but it comes for good reason. In 17 career at bats against Verlander, he is hitting .353 with 2 home runs, 5 RBI’s, 3 XBH, and a .421 OBP. He will be hitting 4th in the Pittsburgh Pirates lineup, so there should be plenty of run production opportunities.
OF- Giancarlo Stanton (vs. Steven Matz): $5,300. Stanton will be facing Matz on his season debut. Matz had a very “blah” spring training, so I’m not sold he is set and ready to go. Stanton doesn’t have any career at bats versus Matz, but he has shown success against left-handed pitching throughout his career. He is a career .290 hitter versus left handed pitching compared to .264 against righties. He hits a home run off of lefties about 7.9% compared to righties at 6.7%. I like his splits going against a young Steven Matz.
OF- Stephen Piscotty (vs. Taylor Jungmann): $3,700. Stephen Piscotty has been on fire since the start of the 2016 season. He is currently hitting .292 with 1 home run, 4 RBI’s, 4 runs, and a .433 OBP. He does have limited statistics against Jungmann, but it does show some success. He has 3 at bats with 2 hits, 1 home run, and 3 RBI’s versus Jungmann. I think Piscotty is a steal at only $3,700
Remaining Salary: $100
Other Hot Options: Kyle Gibson, Michael Conforto, Joe Mauer, Kyle Seager
Stay Away From: Jose Abreu, Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Brian Dozier, Andrew McCutchen
