This fan’s bare-handed, beer-balancing catch is a thing of beauty
In April baseball, no matter how great the results are, they don’t matter too much. There’s still a-hundred-and-something more games ahead and even the most fantastic game-saving catch is wiped clean when the next game starts.
Not so if you’re a fan. If you’re a fan and you make a great catch at a game — even if it’s an April game — that’s the moment of a lifetime. And that’s why this Oakland Athletics fan above is already a champion. Even in the first week of April.

He hauled in a foul ball Thursday during Oakland’s game against the Chicago White Sox. The A’s didn’t win, but he sure did. And we’re going to count the ways.
1. The bare-handed grab. Look at it. Master it. Praise it. While I’m not adamantly against adult fans bring gloves to games (like some people), real still recognizes real. A bare-handed catch is legit.
2. Dude didn’t even spill his beer. It wasn’t a full beer, so the degree of difficult isn’t as high, but still. Bare-handed catch and full control of the beer? This guy is a pro.
3. Wait ’til the end and you’ll see it. What does the ball-grabbing, beer-balancing fan do afterward? Finds a kid in the stands to give the ball to.
Hats off to you, sir, from beginning to end.
