Adidas unveils special Jackie Robinson Day cleats
April 15 is Jackie Robinson Day in MLB and Adidas has come out with some spiffy new cleats to mark the occasion and celebrate the man so integral in spurring racial progress in baseball and across North America when he broke the color barrier in the major leagues in 1947.

Players at ULCA alma mater will all receive a pair while MLB players that rep Adidas like Kris Bryant and Carlos Correa will be sporting the Robinson-inspired spikes to go with the No. 42 uniforms every player in the league wears on that day. The cleats are also made of heather wool as tribute to the old wool jerseys and caps that players wore during Robinson’s era.
They are also adorned with two Robinson quotes that absolutely reflect everything he represents: “Above anything else, I hate to lose” and “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”
