The latest episode of World Soccer Talk Radio features an interview with Alison Bender, the former Chelsea TV reporter who has now expanded her role at ESPN FC. As well as revealing some of ESPN’s plans for Euro 2016, she shares her opinion about Antonio Conte being hired as the new Chelsea boss.
Bender has expanded her role at ESPN FC as its UK-based soccer presenter and reporter, contributing daily content, analysis and breaking news on Premier League, European and world soccer.
In the expanded role, Bender will appear regularly on ESPN FC’s daily global soccer program, as well as contributing video reports and interviews for ESPNFC.com
Bender will also serve in various hosting and reporting duties surrounding ESPN’s EURO 2016 coverage, including ESPN FC’s EURO After Dark, a digital-exclusive show. She will also contribute to ESPN’s coverage of the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
“Having worked with Alison since 2004, we are thrilled to have her expand her contributions,” said Bimal Kapadia, Senior Director, ESPN FC Digital Media. “Her unique perspective and distinct voice will continue to add more great content, insight and news to ESPN FC, and we are looking forward to her contributions to EURO 2016 and future events.”
“I’m thrilled to be ESPN’s new football presenter, furthering a relationship I’ve had with them for over a decade,” said Bender. “In that time, I’ve seen football’s appeal grow in the US. I’m delighted to be a part of that and look forward to working on some exciting projects. “
Bender first joined ESPN as a Champions League reporter in 2004, and contributed to ESPN FC’s coverage of the 2010 World Cup, hosting a daily roundup show from the tournament. For the past two years, Bender has hosted “Weekend Bender,” a digital segment with a light-hearted take on soccer’s biggest matches in Europe, appearing every Friday on ESPN FC.
With more than 15 years of experience in the soccer industry, Bender has worked for various global sports channels including Real Madrid TV, Chelsea TV and Sky Sports News.
Most recently, she spent five years with the Premier League hosting daily analysis programs and reporting pitch side at matches.
