105-year-old Rangers fan reveals her secret to living a long life
On Wednesday, the Texas Rangers welcomed 105-year-old Elizabeth Sullivan to throw out the first pitch before their game against the Seattle Mariners. It turned into one of best moments of the week, as she absolutely stole the show at Globe Life Park.
We’re not just talking about her performance on the field either. In fact, Sullivan admitted she was disappointed with herself there, saying she had done much better in practice two days earlier. Yes, Sullivan held what we’ll call a bullpen session in preparation for Wednesday’s events, because she takes her responsibilities seriously.

No, the real highlight came during her fourth-inning interview with Fox Sports’ Jim Knox. It was there that Sullivan unveiled her infectious personality to the viewing public, while revealing her secret to living a long life and having more energy than some people half her age.
“I drink three Dr. Peppers a day, and everybody says it has too much sugar,” Sullivan said. “But so far, it’s kept me alive.”
Dr. Pepper as fuel for the soul? It’s possible, but probably not recommended. In fact, if your doctor or nutritionist just fainted, it’s probably because they just did the math on this in their head. That would be roughly 1,100 Dr. Peppers in a single year, for who knows how many years.
We all seek the key to maintaining to a healthy life, but this again proves that everyone is wired differently.

Another highlight came when Knox pointed out that Sullivan was still driving on her own car as recently as last year. When asked why she stopped, Sullivan revealed that the authorities wouldn’t issue her a new license.
Memo to the world: You can take Elizabeth Sullivan out of the driver’s seat, but you can’t take away her drive or her Dr. Peppers.
