Munoz injured after car hits wall during Phoenix qualifying (The Associated Press)
IndyCar driver Carlos Munoz had to be lifted from his car and was placed on a stretcher after crashing during qualifying at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday. The back end of Munoz’s No. 26 Andretti Autosport car slammed hard into the wall. Munoz was alert when medical personnel arrived, but the Colombian appeared to be in considerable pain as he was lifted out of the car onto a stretcher and taken to the infield medical center.
