Lakers' Randle fined $15K for 'obscene gesture'
LOS ANGELES — The NBA has fined Julius Randle $15,000 for making an “obscene gesture” after the Los Angeles Lakers forward sank the game-winning shot in Wednesday’s overtime victory against the Miami Heat.
The league announced the fine Friday, less than 48 hours after Randle sank a tie-breaking hook shot with 1.9 seconds left and then made the gesture.
The 6-foot-9 Randle finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds in Los Angeles’ 102-100 victory, recording his 33rd double-double this season.
The second-year forward out of Kentucky is averaging 11.6 points and 10.2 rebounds, making him one of nine players in the NBA to average a double-double this season.
