bringing in Don Mattingly as manager and signing starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen to a big free-agent deal.
The Marlins, as they are wont to do, underwent a few changes this offseason, most notablyThe changes weren’t just with personnel, either. It’s only been back in place for a short period of time, so forgive the players for forgetting they’re no longer allowed to come to the ballpark with scruff on their faces. However, while there has been a bit of latitude on the matter given during spring training, Jarred Cosart’s stubble was getting long enough for the right-hander to get a friendly reminder from Mattingly about the new rule.
This is now the reality in Miami. Have those razors at the ready, boys. If the Marlins are going to compete with the Mets and Nationals in the National League East this season, they’re going to do so clean shaven. And it’s probably for the best if the manager doesn’t have to play beard cop again.
