Rob Dibble goes after Carlos Gomez for home run celebration, loses
baseball is tired. That’s OK, though, because Gomez is out to make things right. The 30-year-old outfielder has no problem showing his emotions on the field, and that leads to some entertaining home run celebrations.

Gomez got to show off one of those Monday in a spring game against the Atlanta Braves. In the second inning, Gomez destroyed a pitch, sending it out to center for a long home run. When he reached home plate, Gomez celebrated by doing the dab. Cam Newton would be proud.
Others, like former major leaguer Rob Dibble, might not appreciate Gomez’s actions. Dibble wasn’t pleased after seeing Gomez’s celebration, and decided to do some trash talking on Twitter.
That’s harsh, but Dibble has never been shy about sharing a hot opinion. Problem is, it doesn’t appear he had a plan if Gomez ever responded. That’s precisely what happened.
That’s a pretty solid response from Gomez. He acknowledges the criticism, but says he’ll use it as motivation. He then graciously exits the conversation by telling Dibble to have a great day.

At this point, Dibble has a few options. He can double-down on his criticism, immediately back down or not respond at all. Since this is Dibble we’re talking about, we can safely eliminate the third option.
So, which way did Dibble go? Let’s find out:
Yeah, he immediately backed down. Based on that response, we’re guessing Dibble never anticipated that Gomez would find and respond to the initial tweet. He was a Twitter tough guy when he thought he could get away with it, but turned into mush the instant Gomez found him.

For now, Dibble is going to have to chalk this one up as an “L.” After seeing how this whole thing played out, we wouldn’t be surprised if Gomez proceeded to dab in front of his computer screen once Dibble took the loss. Shutting down a Twitter troll is always worthy of a celebration.
