Julian Edelman went bit long on his ‘one-week’ Blockbuster rental
Better late than never, we suppose.
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman made a recent discovery that could, in theory, get him in trouble. OK, stretch the definition of trouble temporarily for a moment …
Oh, you laugh! But there was a guy in North Carolina who was recently busted (like, seriously, actually handcuffed) for not returning a 2002 rental of “Freddie Got Fingered.” And even though that rental place was not in existence anymore, the dude was pinched.
So Edelman — even though Blockbuster isn’t really a thing anymore (is it?) — posted the evidence on his Instagram account, likely with the hope that prosecutors in Ohio or some random place will go easy on that fact that he basically (inadvertently, we assume) stole an Xbox copy of “Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow” for the past dozen years.
No word yet whether this falls under the NFL’s personal conduct code and if Edelman is subject to league-issued suspension for his egregious malfeasance.
