World champion Peter Sagan wins Gent-Wevelgem classic (The Associated Press)
World champion Peter Sagan posted his first victory in the rainbow jersey on Sunday after the Slovakian rider came out on top of a four-man sprint to claim the Gent-Wevelgem classic. ”I’m very happy that I’ve won finally in this jersey,” said Sagan, who claimed the world title last September in Richmond, Virginia. Viacheslav Kuznetsov made the first move, about 200 meters from the finish line, but Sagan then easily outsprinted his rivals.
