Todd McShay NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Bengals still going wide receiver – Cincy Jungle

There’s pretty much no question the Bengals will draft a receiver with one of their first two picks this year, and they’d probably like to take one in Round 1. Corey Coleman continues to be a popular name for pick No. 24.
A new day, a new mock draft.
But like many before today, Todd McShay’s latest mock draft at ESPN has the Bengals taking a wide receiver with the 24th-overall pick. Every mock he’s posted to this point has had Cincinnati grabbing a receiver, even when he did his in-season mock that had Notre Dame’s Will Fuller going to the Bengals at 29.

Now at version 4.0 McShay is pegging Baylor’s Corey Coleman to Cincy.
Coming from Baylor’s spread offense, Coleman still needs work as a route runner. But make no mistake, this is an explosive athlete with game-breaking ability on offense and in the return game. While Coleman is a little undersized at 5-foot-11, he can change directions on a dime, which gives him a lot of upside in the NFL. The Bengals are in dire need of a No. 2 WR after both Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones left in free agency.
If you follow our mock draft tracker, you’ll see it’s mostly Coleman or Doctson getting projected to the Bengals. Like Doctson, Coleman is set to workout for the Bengals before the draft, which is just over a month away. You can’t go wrong with either guy at 24, so it will be interesting to see what happens if they’re both on the board at that point.
And you can look at five different mock draft and you’ll see five different opinions on where those two rank among this year’s crop of receivers. That’s why the Bengals are smart to put in the extra work for both guys so they can determine which of them is the best fit, if either are on the board when Cincinnati is on the clock.
McShay’s 4.0 mock draft also has a second round, and he has the Bengals going with an in-state product.
55. Cincinnati Bengals: Adolphus Washington, DT, Ohio State
At the Senior Bowl, Washington showed good first-step quickness off the ball for his size (6-3, 301). He has good range against the run and is disruptive at the point of attack.
ESPN ranks Washington as the 43rd best prospect, so getting him at 55 could be a steal for the Bengals.
