Well, it appears Maddon has officially run out of ideas. Instead of surprising his club with a cowboy doing lasso tricks or putting a ball pit out in left field, Maddon took the easy way out and brought actual bear cubs to Cubs camp.
You know what? After seeing the video, we take it all back. Those baby bears are adorable. We never should have doubted you, Joe!
Fans of some teams might look at this and be unimpressed. The Chicago White Sox sometimes bring their white socks to camp, and no one makes a big deal about that. Maybe a cardinals has appeared as St. Louis Cardinals camp a couple times? Why does that go unreported?

Fine, we admit that more exciting mascots take the lead over the ordinary. We’re not going to be impressed by orioles in Orioles camp. Now, if Bruce Bochy decides to bring actual giants to entertain the San Francisco Giants, we’re all in on that!
