This new Pirates hot dog is like the worst ‘Chopped’ recipe ever
‘Tis the season for outrageous new food items to be announced by MLB teams. Ballpark food is a conquest for fans — some of whom enjoy eating the biggest, weirdest, fried-est thing they can get while watching a baseball game.

We’re not here to judge. You want that crazy burger with buns made of pizzas that the Braves are selling? Go for it. That new Rangers sandwich with 47 types of pork in it sound good? Ham it up, friend.
But this new hot dog from the Pittsburgh Pirates, we’re just not sure about. Have a look and see if your mouth waters (and if it does, hey, awesome).
So now the explainer: It’s a foot-long, all beef hot dog topped Cracker Jack (weird, but OK, it’s a baseball thing), macaroni and cheese (you sure about this?), salted caramel sauce (say what now?) and fried jalapeños (at this point, why not?), all on naan bread.

Seriously, it sounds like an episode of “Chopped” gone wrong. Why else but being stuck with a basket of mystery ingredients would you put salted caramel sauce and mac and cheese on a hot dog?
If we’ve learned anything from sports’ love affair with frankenfood it’s that someone will try this and tell us all about it. Go forth, adventerous eaters, and get your Cracker Jack-meets-mac-and-cheese dog. We won’t judge you. But we will fear for your tummy.
