Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford win church league basketball title
Those of you smart types who said Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford would never win a championship can just shut the heck up, because the two slingin’ QBs brought home the big trophy! Of course, it was in a church basketball league, but still: a trophy’s a trophy.
Ryan and Stafford helped their team win the 18U church title for Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Atlanta. This, despite the fact that every Stafford pass, even the bounces, rebounded off the far wall hard enough to dislodge paint. Ryan, meanwhile, kept getting wrapped up by defenses, refusing to pass as he called out, “Julio? Julio…?” (These last two sentences may not be completely truthful.)
Anyway, congrats to the Matts, their wives, and the rest of the crew on the team. If those other dudes can block or catch passes, the Falcons and Lions might have a job for them.
