Michigan to practice at Ford Field on Saturday
Michigan is practicing in its home state on Saturday. Just not on campus.
The well-traveled Wolverines will host a practice at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions. Rod Wood, the president of the Lions, confirmed the practice to the Detroit News.
The practice will go from Noon-4 p.m. and is reportedly open to high school players and coaches. Not only does Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh get to impress his own team with a practice at a cool site, he can further foster goodwill among coaches and possible recruits. Each player, according to the poster tweeted below by the D Zone, gets two tickets to the practice. Michigan last practice at Ford Field in the fall of 2012.

According to the News, the Wolverines will get to use the Lions’ locker room as well. It also got us to thinking; where should Michigan practice in 2017? Florida is out because it was the site of 2016’s spring break practice. We think Harbaugh should go big and shoot for the moon. Literally. Hold practice on the moon. Or maybe a cruise ship. Many ships are big enough for a practice field and how can opponents of spring break practices argue about time demands when players are free to do cruise activities outside of practice?
Come talk to us, Michigan. We’re full of ideas.
