Bono praises Mike Fisher’s milestone with Proclaimers tune (Video)
The Nashville Predators gave center Mike Fisher quite the ceremony for reaching 1,000 games.
Fisher reached the mark on March 3, but the team waited until Monday’s game to note his accomplishment. This included a pre-game celebration before Nashville’s win over the Los Angeles Kings with his wife, country music star Carrie Underwood, and his parents.

But the biggest moment of Fisher’s 1,000 game party came in the second period when U2 lead singer and international celebrity and humanitarian Bono wished Fisher well on his 1,000 games to the tune of the song “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers. This comes at around the 1:24 mark of the video.
The long video tweeted out by the Preds included several country stars such as Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Michael W. Smith, Vince Gill and the band Rascal Flatts.
Bono has an interesting association with the sport of hockey. This goes back to when then Edmonton Oilers forward Gilbert Brule picked up Bono by the side of the road near Vancouver in 2011.
Outside of Fisher’s musical friends there were messages from hockey playing pals Shane Doan, Chris Neil, Chris Phillips, Antoine Vermette, Shea Weber and Fisher’s dad.
