Alpine skiing-Shiffrin wins last women’s slalom of season (Reuters)
World and Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin ended the women’s World Cup slalom season just as she started it with another commanding victory at the St Moritz finals on Saturday. The U.S. skier, winner of the season’s first two slaloms in Aspen, was more than two seconds quicker over the two legs in the Swiss resort than second-placed Veronika Velez Zuzulova of Slovakia. It was Shiffrin’s fifth slalom win of the winter — out of five races started — and with an average victory margin of two seconds.
