Nebraska WR Brandon Reilly cited for DUI
It looks like one Nebraska player may have had too much fun on St. Patrick’s Day.
According to multiple outlets, Huskers wide receiver Brandon Reilly was cited for suspicion of DUI early Friday morning. A police report says Reilly was stopped at 2:11 a.m. after being observed traveling at “an estimated 65 mph in a 60 mph zone.” Reilly also made a turn without signaling. Reilly’s blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit.

According to an LPD police report, at 2:11 a.m. Friday, an LPD officer observed a black 2007 Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on I-180 going an estimated 65 mph in a 60 mph zone.
The driver, Reilly, then turned right onto Superior Street without signaling the turn. An officer conducted a traffic stop shortly thereafter, and, upon contact with the 22-year-old Reilly, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol. Reilly took a standard field sobriety test, then was transported to a health center for testing. There, Reilly’s blood alcohol content measured .150, or nearly twice the legal limit of .08.
Reilly was cited with first offense DUI, negligent driving and failure to signal. Reilly had two passengers in the car, and a sober friend picked them up at the location of the traffic stop.
The Nebraska athletic department said that it and head coach Mike Riley are “aware of the incident.”
“We will continue to monitor the situation and determine the appropriate disciplinary measures,” the statement said.

Reilly, a senior, is one of Nebraska’s top returning wide receivers. He hauled in 40 passes for 754 yards and four scores (including the game-winner vs. Michigan State) in 2015 and has been practicing with the first team offense during spring ball, which resumes March 29 following the school’s spring break.
