McCollum was a star at Lehigh of the Patriot League and led the Mountain Hawks to a huge upset over Duke in the 2012 tournament. Lehigh was a No. 15 seed, but 30 points from McCollum helped the Mountain Hawks shock Plumlee and the No. 2 seed Blue Devils.
McCollum reminded Plumlee (and fellow teammate and Duke star Gerald Henderson) of his stellar performance on Twitter.
Don’t worry, Duke fans. Plumlee, who had 19 points and 12 rebounds in that game, got the last laugh by texting McCollum a picture of his 2010 national championship ring.
Well played.
