Why did Broncos player just get a massive tattoo with Chiefs logo?
Denver Broncos rookie Shane Ray, you just won the Super Bowl! What are you going to do?
I’m going to the tattoo parlor! To get some Kansas City Chiefs ink?
Check out the Instagram post of Ray, who posted a new pic of his tattoo in which a Chiefs logo takes up a sizable portion of his left trapezius.
So, um, Ray was a rookie last season and all. But does he not realize how some Broncos fans might take this? They are bitter rivals, after all.
But Ray seems to know this. He is, you see, a Kansas City native, growing up in what he called “The Town,” and it’s clear that his new body art is a pretty cool homage to where he grew up. And actually, if you have time, read about the rough part of KC in which he grew up, known as the “Murder Factory” for how much homicide there is there.
But Ray got out, first starring at Mizzou and then becoming a first-round pick of the Broncos a year ago. He tallied four sacks as a reserve, added a forced fumble and a pressure of Cam Newton in the Super Bowl and figures to be DeMarcus Ware’s long-term replacement. Ray’s future is bright in Denver, despite those who might question his brightness for inking the logo of a rival team on his body.
Trust him. Ray has pretty good reason for doing so.
