Phil Hughes has bomb taco bar for Twins’ ‘Bachelor’ watch party
One of the most important aspects of spring training is the opportunity to bond with teammates. The baseball season is long, and having a team that’s on good terms off the field is a nice bonus.
So what better way to bring a group of ballplayers together than a watch party for The Bachelor? That’s exactly what Twins pitcher Phil Hughes did on Monday night, as he had a number of teammates over to take in the show’s finale.

It wasn’t an ordinary bring your own snacks watch party, either. Hughes upped the ante by preparing an extensive taco bar that according to MLB.com, featured “Korean BBQ braised short ribs, Pasilla chicken, kimchi, Mexican street corn, pickled onions and other such accoutrements.”
The photographic evidence suggests it was just as delicious as it sounds. And if that wasn’t enough, Hughes’ fiancée raised the stakes even higher with taco-themed cookies. Yum.

Don’t get it twisted, though. While the food was definitely a big part of the proceedings, it wasn’t going to overshadow the main event. Hughes was fully invested, as he live-tweeted through it all.
We wonder what would be more stressful for Hughes: pitching in a crucial game down the stretch or watching The Bachelor? It seems like it might be the latter. At least he had a sublime taco bar to take his mind off the madness.
