Former UNC star picks Kentucky to knock off Tar Heels – 247Sports
The 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament bracket was unveiled Sunday with the Kentucky Wildcats slotted as the No. 4 seed in the East Region.
The Wildcats’ placement sets up some interesting matchups on the road to the Final Four, including a potential Sweet Sixteen tilt with No. 1 seed North Carolina.
When former UNC standout Brendan Haywood filled out his bracket Monday on CBS Sports Network, he had the Wildcats and Tar Heels squaring off in the Sweet Sixteen, but surprisingly picked Kentucky to knock off his alma mater and advance to the Elite Eight.

The Wildcats would love to prove Haywood correct, but first they must take care of business in the first two rounds.
No. 4 seed Kentucky opens the NCAA Tournament against No. 13 seed Stony Brook on Thursday evening. The game is scheduled to tip off from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, at 9:40 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast on CBS.
