It’s entirely unsurprising that quarterback Johnny Manziel cleared waivers after the Cleveland Browns released him Friday.

But don’t tell him that.

Manziel was recently spotted leaving The Nice Guy restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif., when he fielded a question from a TMZ Sports photographer. Here’s how the quick exchange went:

Q: “Johnny, we gonna see you playing football next year, man?”

Manziel: “Of course, my man.”

Manziel continued: “My TMZ family — I appreciate you, bro, I appreciate you. To my mom back at home, Tyler, Texas, we love you, all of you. … Gig ’em Aggies.”

TMZ Sports did fire off one more question, which Manziel left unanswered as he hopped into an SUV with his crew:

“You got a team you’d like to play for the most?”
